Tucsan bracelet session with the kids
I spent a delightful afternoon in Tucsan making bracelets with about a dozen kids. They caught on quickly so I left them several bolts of cord to make more and hopefully sell them to the tourists in Pisaq. The older ones remember the first group and I told them that you send your greetings. The first group was Ben, Tom, Charlie, Shane, Stefano, Jeff and Steve Groll. It is sooo green now in Peru after the summer rains.

Amaru school kids
The Amaru school has about 100 students in grades 1 thru 6 and I was able to spend some time with them today. This is one of the cleanest and most progressive villages in Peru and education is a high priority for most of the families. We are working with two women’s group doing bracelets, rings and earrings as part of the Galileo Foundation’s “Cord to connect the world” initiative.
Text for the Villacha school gallery
I visited the Villacha school today. I double posted the pictures because of my unfamiliarity with word press, but twice is better than none. You will see the old church where we taught bracelets to the village women two years ago I think. You will see Mason’s swing without the rope and so this year we will put up new ropes as part of the June expedition. I am sure this will make Mason proud. You will see the bathroom addition to the school that was done the same year. For those who were there, this will be memorable. The kids were so happy to see a fresh face.

I love the Andes!
First expedition group was awesome
I thoroughly enjoyed the first expedition group this year. It consisted of Robert Raver from Galileo, Halee Gines from Tabiona, Marc Jolley from Las Vegas, Robi and Shelby Porter from Springville. The group is better know as the “tear it up” group and they definitely made an impact everywhere we visited. Many thanks to each of them.
Some pictures of the amazing scenery and the local people in the market. Every day in Peru is an adventure. The thought for the week is from Kierkgard “Life is a mystery to be experienced, not a problem to be solved.”
Huatta village meeting
Huatta is one of the villages that has had a lot of success making and selling the bracelets, rings and earrings we introduced last year. I delivered a bunch of cord today that they bought, so you know that they are making money with it. A very picturesque and delightful village.
